Often times we giggle with our grandparents when they were busying searching for their glasses without noticing their glasses were on top of their forehead; however, when senior citizens failed to find their way home, such forgetfulness becomes a serious issue.
Dementia is a collective term used to describe various symptoms of cognitive declines, such as impairment in memory, communication, and thinking? It is a symptom of several underlying diseases and brain disorders. People with dementia losses neurons at a faster rate, meaning their brain dies quicker than others.
With the number of 24.3 million worldwide cases increases twice every 20 years, dementia cases have increased over 300% in India, China, South Asia, and Pacific West. Malaysian is susceptible to experience dementia when we age beyond 60, in contrast to Japan & America, of which dementia cases only increases drastically after 90 years of age.
Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60-80% of dementia cases, signs of dementia include:
1. Difficulty in doing simple house chores such as cooking
2. Difficulty in speaking fluently
3. Forgotten the way home
4. Difficulty in controlling acts of excreting
5. Alteration of sleeping cycle
6. Hallucinating
7. Experience mood swings and experience extremely irritable feelings
This dementia problem has several risk factors:
1. The biggest risk factor is age, usually when skipping through the age of '60s
2. A family history that has a problem with humor. Parents or siblings who have this problem increase the risk of 10-30% and the risk will also increase when there is a family member suffering from it before the age of 70.
3. lifestyle and health factors such as smoking, diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
4.The good and mental social life that actively lowers the risk of humor

Ways to lower dementia/dementia risk:
1. Changes in diet and nutrition are very important. High fiber diets, low salt, and fat / cholesterol can lower dementia risk.
2. Obesity can increase the risk of a person suffering from dementia
3. Exercise to ensure heart health and ensure the body is free from diabetes and hypertension.
4. Quit smoking and alcoholic beverages.

α-polysaccharides is the main content of Enertri that can accelerate the dendritic repair process (connective cells between brain cells) in less than 48 hours according to a study done by the University of Emory, Atlanta. Effectively counteracts the aging and cell decline causes by neurotoxic agents such as glutamate and hydrogen peroxides.
